Course Layout:
Race date for 2022-23 season is Saturday February 25 March 4. Mass start time is Series default of 9:30 (no advance announcement, so prepare yourself at start location ahead of time), w/ 2:00 prize/swag distribution and free beer (non-alcoholic) @ Greylock Glen gazebo.
This backcountry ski race is entirely self-supported (no aid stations): Thunderbolt Ski Patrol will be on duty (and also receives the net proceeds from the race as a fundraiser), but expect far longer response and extrication times than at a resort.
The recent track record for this race venue (the second-oldest ski race outside of Europe, since 1935!) is eight out of the past thirteen seasons, which is a reasonable proxy for the likelihood of pulling off the race in any particular seasons.

- As shown below, from West Road, turn onto Gould Road
- Instead of continuing straight onto Thiel Road, sharp left to stay on Gould Road, alongside which you can park on the right.
- Both the start and finish are in front of the gazebo, at the starred location on the map.
- Although DCR removed the pit toilets in 2021, a portable toilet is available at the gazebo (i.e., the five-pointed star in the map), with another at the Bellows South trailhead (i.e., the top-most combination of symbols for parking and hiking), but consider stopping first in town (e.g., Adams Market, McD's, Cumberland Farms).
