Course layouts:
- Skimo = ISMF-format Sprint race, along the full 160' vertical of the main ski slope
- Skinning on your own = follow skimo ascent route, then can ignore descent markings
- Nordic = serpentine route along lower ~1/3 of main slope (shared w/ skinners), as shown HERE
Date for 2026-27 season is Saturday September 5 -- almost certainly a one-time event, NOT to be repeated in future years, with the unique elements of:
- First skimo race ever held indoors anywhere in the world.
- The only opportunity to skin up indoors anywhere in the Western Hemisphere.
- The only opportunity to nordic ski indoors anywhere other than Europe or China.
Schedule:
7:00am = Access opens to snow (perhaps a few minutes earlier for "lodge" but perhaps not, so plan to put on boots at the interior mall entrance to Big Snow)
9:00am = Access closes to snow, although can linger as long as necessary in "lodge" to change out of ski boots, etc.
9:30am = Approximate time to start post-race event, location TBD, with schwag (including Hammer Nutrition sample bags), prizes, and beer (non-alcoholic!).
